Your Responsibilities

When wearing braces your teeth and gums require extra care and attention. We will advise you on the best way to care for them, including dietary advice. It is essential that you follow this advice carefully to avoid lasting damage to your mouth.

Removable braces can be removed for cleaning but will only work properly if worn all the time, including meals.

Fixed braces are attached to the teeth and cannot be removed. They are kept clean by careful and thorough toothbrushing.

When braces are first fitted they can cause some discomfort which normally settles after a few days.

The appliances are delicate and you should follow our instructions on how to avoid damaging or breaking them.

Repeated breakages will prolong the treatment time.

Severe damage or loss of a brace or retainer will incur a replacement fee. Under our regulations this fee must be paid before the replacement can be made.

It is essential that you continue to see your dentist for regular check-ups and any necessary treatment during your orthodontic treatment.

If you fail to comply with the requirements for treatment we may stop your treatment.

You should treat all our staff and other patients with respect or we may withdraw from your treatment.

You should pay your bills promptly and in full.
